Wormwood, also commonly known as green ginger or absinthe. It is a tall silvery-green plant that started as a native to temperate regions of Eurasia and Northern Africa, then quickly became widely naturalized in Canada and the northern United States. It has a flavor profile that is most recognizable in the spirit absinthe, as well as other spirits and wines. It can also be used as a bitter to counteract poor appetite, or to treat digestive ailments such as dyspepsia and Crohn’s disease.
Fun Fact!
Due to a small content of chamazulene (a violet-blue botanical compound) the distill wormwood oil is a beautiful marine blue-green color!
