Clove Leaf Oil
Clove leaf oil is wildly used in flavor & fragrance formulations. The leaves of the clove tree are harvested on a large scale mainly in Indonesia and Madagascar. Leaves are distilled to produce an dark brown essential oil, which is one of the top 12 largest essential oils in the world.
The crude oil is extremely rich in eugenol. It is often reprocessed into a pale yellow oil, or fully fractionated to isolate the eugenol.
