Ambrofix (aka Ambroxan) is a powerful tenacious and stable ambery note with woody tobacco and dry character. It has become a class fixative in any perfumer’s pallet. Whereas originally formulated in fine fragrance, Ambrofix is now found across many applications. Ambrofix is very similar to Ambrox, who was synthetized in the 50’s to replicate ambergris. Its note is indeed typically imitates that of Ambergris. Ambroxan is synthetized from Sclareol, a molecule naturally occurring in high concentration in Clarysage concrete. Pure Ambrofix is a white powder, that perfumers formulate from traces up to 2%.
